Sumnima has extensive experience in child protection issues, child sexual abuse and commercial sexual exploitation of children, street children, trafficking in women and children, child participation and children in armed conflict. She has conducted and published various researches on the issues of child rights and child protection. She is also one of the pioneers of online child protection in Nepal. As an expert on child protection issues in Nepal, she is engaged in policy advocacy on child rights. As a founding member of CWIN-Nepal, Sumnima has been working passionately towards these causes for the past 27 years in various capacities within CWIN. She currently serves as an Executive Coordinator, overseeing overall management, supervision and monitoring of all programmes of CWIN-Nepal. Sumnima is a board member of ECPAT International representing South Asia, member of AATWIN (Alliance Against Trafficking in Women and Children) and core committee member of Women’s Network for Peace (Shanti Malika) and founder member of Women in Policy Advocacy Alliance (WlPAA).

Ashish is the  World Bank’s Focal Point in Nepal for the Scaling-Up Renewable Energy Program in Low Income Countries (SREP), coordinating both the large biogas and mini-grids projects. He is also the local coordinator for the Nepal component of the regional initiative on the mitigation of short-lived climate pollutants in South Asia and for the Bank’s analytic work on decentralized energy access in Nepal.

He was previously a researcher with the World Bank’s Development Economics Research Group, where his research focus was on the nexus of clean energy and climate change, including bio-energy and forest carbon, as well as sustainable transportation. Ashish holds an M.A. in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University and a B.A. in Economics from Hamilton College.

Satish is a Project Finance & Management specialist working with the Investment Board Nepal. Before joining the Investment Board, he worked in the US for Pattern Energy and Babcock and Brown in the Renewable Energy & Transmission sector principally focused on utility scale wind power development. Mr. Joshi has worked for the Investment Board Nepal (IBN) since its inception in December 2011. At the IBN, he is involved in the Board’s Hydropower initiatives primarily working on the development and negotiation of Project Development Agreements with the developers of four export oriented HEPs, and is also leading the interactions with CWEI on the West Seti storage project. Given the export component of these projects Mr. Joshi has also been involved in working with the GoN on a pushing forward the Power Trade Agreement agenda with India.

Mr Ashutosh Tiwari has worked closely with more than 40 small businesses as a small-business advisor at GiZ (Nepal) and at  International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. From 2007-2009, he was the CEO of Himalmedia, where he led a successful financial and operational turnaround work that involved working with labour unions. In 2008, he co-founded Entrepreneurs for Nepal, a platform that organizes entrepreneurs’ gatherings, offers training, hosts advisory sessions and helps link up angel investors to startups.

Mr Anil has spent the past two decades working as a conservationist, environmental leader, and senior Ashoka fellow in Nepal. An engineer by training, Anil pursued graduate work in energy planning at the University of Pennsylvania and then joined the Kathmandu municipality. His projects and organizations have received numerous awards and grants, and he is presently working to scale his work on a solar lighting system for rural villages in Nepal. He was also part of the team that implemented the National Conservation Strategy for Nepal, preserving its globally unique natural endowment. He is recipient of the prestigieus Ashoka Fellowship, the Rolex award and the Silicon Valley Tech Award. In 1993 he was recognized as one amongst 100 “Global Leaders for Tomorrow” at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
