Mr. Suman Shakya

Suman Shakya is an entrepreneur, consultant and a trainer, Co-Founder at SmartPaani, a private company encouraging rainwater harvesting and sustainable water management in Nepal including groundwater, wastewater treatment, SmartUrja looks after biogas, waste to energy, solar and consulting services.

He is passionate about entrepreneurship and is working towards building and expanding the startup entrepreneurial ecosystem through Nepal Entrepreneur’s Hub, Co-organizing Startup Weekend Kathmandu events, meetups, mentoring, coaching, nurturing startups and helping companies grow. Rooster Logic, a big data company focused on research and monitoring was borne out of such exciting journey.

Learning:

Nepal Entrepreneur’s Hub 9th Spark Talk Series commenced at Hotel Yak & Yeti at 2:30 PM. The event started with Mr. Suman Shakya giving us a few words on NEHUB and our programs. Ms. Hong Sin Kwek then started with her powerpoint presentation. She mainly talked about how to go global, going digital is a must. She further pointed out the potential Nepal and its people have and how crowdfunding can help us expand our idea. Mark Sears shared his thoughts on crowdfunding as well as crowdsourcing. Saroj K Ghimire gave us an idea on the legal aspect making crowdfunding possible in Nepal and also talked about its limitations. An interactive discussion took place with all speakers trying to encourage starting businesses here in Nepal.
