Startup Bootcamp

Startup Bootcamp

Startup Bootcamp, a two-and-a-half-day initiative from 29 to 31 May 2024 was organized by Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC), and designed and facilitated by Nepal Entrepreneurs’ Hub. The program aimed to address the startup dilemma of the youth in Lalitpur like access to knowledge, what idea will work, and mentorship, and empower them to develop their entrepreneurial skills and launch their own businesses.

More than 45 enthusiasts applied and participated in an orientation program held at LMC. All applicants were briefed about the objectives and requirements to participate in the program. The selection process prioritized fostering inclusivity and empowering underrepresented groups in the youth community who could attend the two- and half-day program.

Due to the program being scheduled on working days, 22 enthusiastic participants who agreed to the requirements of the program, with a diverse background signed up. Since a few seats remained, a social media post on the day of the program generated additional requests and seven more were accepted. A total of 29 young men and women participated.

The program combined interactive workshops, practical exercises, and mentorship sessions, providing participants with a comprehensive learning experience. It fostered a strong sense of community and collaboration among participants, encouraging teamwork and idea exchange. Teams were seen staying beyond closing time to discuss the business ideas and refine them.

Renowned entrepreneurs and investors provided valuable insights and guidance to participants throughout the program. The participants acknowledged the insights provided by the mentor and it helped them with different dimensions to the business idea they were working on.

The presence of Ms. Manjali Shakya Bajracharya, Deputy Mayor of LMC during the opening and closing ceremony added much needed encouragement and value to the program. The delivery of a keynote inspirational speech at the opening by the Deputy Mayor uplifted the participants. Her presence and active involvement during the closing ceremony gave credibility to the program.

The final presentations and pitching competition provided participants with an opportunity to showcase their developed business ideas and receive constructive feedback from judges. The judges were Mr. Kashyap Shakya, CEO, Pycus – branding and advertising, and Ms. Sewa Pathak, CEO, Vianet
